Summer is here and the school year is over. It was a long stressful year and its time to go on a walkabout to recharge the batteries. Tomorrow I am heading out to hike the C&O towpath from Washington D.C. to Cumberland Maryland, about 184.5 miles total. This will be a different type of hike than I'm used to, and will be completely flat! There seems to be plenty of camping along the way, as well as water pumps every few miles. Town stops can be frequent as well. I will post details when I return. I'm excited to hike along the Potomac River, this place that has sustained me since moving back east. Now, off to finish packing...
