Sierra Snow

Sierra snow levels. Where's the precipitation? Today we've had our first day of rain in while it seems. Hopefully drought levels won't return again this year...

  1. Hey there Mark. Happy New Year!! What adventures do you have planned for 2012? With Tioga Pass still open, I highly recommend you check out the ice up there. Very amazing. It's an odd and unusual winter, for sure, and it's rare to be able to get up into the backcountry this time of year without much snow (or none, depending) on the ground. Heard on the radio yesterday that last year's December brought 150 inches of snow; this year, a meager 2 inches. So far, the forecast is about the same: unseasonably warm and no precp to look forward to. Maybe it's nature's way of trying to even out what we had last year? Hope life is treating you very well. Cheers, Robin

  2. Happy New Year to you to Robin! It is weird how different the weather is this year compared to last. Amazing that Tioga Pass is still open, that is a very, very tempting road trip. Hope you have a most excellent 2012!
