Memorial Day Hike and Tree

138.85 ft. Tulip Poplar

A view into the crown
I managed to squeeze a short Memorial Day hike in this morning between tropical rainstorms. Heavy rains arrived yesterday afternoon as the first tropical storm of the season named Bonnie made landfall in South Carolina and rain bands stretched northward into Maryland. Measured another nice tulip poplar this morning with a height of 138.85 ft. The forest continues to impress, each week offers a new experience as the season progresses...
