After what feels like an entire month of clouds and rain here in Maryland, the clouds have finally lifted and the sun has returned, and it feels like summer. Took a nice hike along the C&O Canal today and practiced measuring trees. I measured my first red oak today, a beauty growing along the towpath at 90.51 ft. The Potomac River is about as spectacular as any river I have seen, hike along the trails and it feels like it could be 500 years ago...
