For now though, since you are in Mendo county and near Ukiah (in Ukiah?) you MUST go to my very dear friend's restaurant, Patrona. It's in Ukiah and Bridget and Craig will happily give you ideas about where to hike and forage. Bridget grew up in SoCal and has a strong and long history with Mammoth They are great people, make great food, and would love to meet you. Please tell them I sent you. And, by the way, maybe all those gun shots are coming from the pot farms??
