Deerwood Trail

Manzanita in bloom

I went back to the Deerwood Trail today to check it out a bit more, and to take advantage of the sunny weather while it's still here. It's a peaceful place to walk, lots of birds and some nice oak trees. I'll be curious to see the place in the spring and summer. I wonder what kind of wildflowers grow here? I've been thinking lately that I may want to hike the Tahoe Rim Trail this summer. 165 miles long, it seems like the kind of hike that can be done in a couple of weeks.
